In 2002, our founder, Jan Stimpson, built the Sympli brand with one goal in mind: to inspire women, to be their most confident selves. She did this by creating a company that supports women’s creative self-expression by designing classic and comfortable clothing. It is this forward-thinking design ethos––and our quality fabrics, inclusive sizing, and commitment to comfort––that made us the brand you know and love today.

But did you know that all of Sympli’s clothing is designed and produced right here in Canada? Our warehouse is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we design 100% of our pieces on-site. 

Our production takes place between our warehouse, our local network of sewers, and other facilities throughout Canada. While we like to say that we think globally, we’re very proud to produce locally but also able to sell Canadian made clothing online. Not only does our work create jobs right here at home, but it also lets us oversee all of our processes, build community, and most importantly: live our values of perfect fit, pristine quality, and helping women feel comfortable in their skin (and their clothes).

Ensuring that every one of our Sympli customers feels good in what they wear is at the heart of what we do. We know that size is just a number––beautiful bodies come in all shapes, and we create our collections with that in mind. Throughout our design process, we shape each of our styles on an inclusive range of body types to ensure the most flattering fit. We believe it’s the only way to guarantee the perfect fit, every time!

This would not be possible if every one of our fabrics and pieces didn’t go through a rigorous testing process to ensure that they can withstand everyday wear and continue to look fabulous for many, many years. We pride ourselves on being a quality clothing brand in Canada that promotes staple clothing that will live inside your closet for years. Quality without compromise is one of the most important elements of the creation process.

Finally, supporting women to feel confident through their personal style has been our driving force since Jan started the company over 20+ years ago. We’re proud to support and partner with local Canadian organizations that share our values and that work to help women find their voices while feeling as stunning as they look. Dress for Success Vancouver empowers women to find work-life success through career services and skills development. Like us, DFS Vancouver is women-lead and champions women’s confident self-expression, our monthly clothing donations provide them with long-lasting closet essentials, and we love being part of this process!

We couldn’t do any of this if it weren’t for our local roots and ties to our community, both in Vancouver and across North America. Our goal is to serve women everywhere right here from home and we’ll continue to do just that for years and years to come.
